Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Team Lead to oversee and direct the activities of our Quality Assurance department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and food safety in our production processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Train and supervise Quality Assurance technicians
- Monitor the progress of trainees and technicians and prepare effective QA Tech schedules
- Assist line QA's with line set-up and calibration of testing equipment
- Troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations
- Communicate and work closely with all departments to achieve quality standards and identify food safety and process improvements
- Investigate customer complaints and conduct case audits
- Generate daily activity reports and conduct chemical and supplies inventories
- Identify safety hazards and notify the QA Manager or Plant Manager
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of related experience required; College Degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Agriculture or related Science field preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information to customers, clients, and associates
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure and compute rate, ratio, and percent
- Must be able to become HACCP trained and SQF certified
Physical Work Environment:
The associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
