Position:
Automotive Technician/Mechanic
Compensation: $25.00 per hour, based on experience. Additional compensation and incentives may apply.
Role Summary:
The Automotive Technician is a vital member of our team, responsible for performing essential vehicle diagnostics and executing routine maintenance and repair services according to established standards and manufacturer guidelines. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional service to our customers through clear communication regarding vehicle issues and proposed solutions, while consistently meeting expectations for quality and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough vehicle diagnostics to accurately identify necessary repairs.
- Perform the comprehensive Courtesy Inspection process on every vehicle, documenting and communicating any additional services or repairs needed.
- Assist in managing inventory, including pulling tires and parts, as well as unloading and stocking supplies.
- Maintain the store's cleanliness and organization, ensuring it meets Tire Choice standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols while performing services, including Monro's Wheel Torque and Oil safety procedures.
- Execute test drives in accordance with company policies, ensuring compliance with local traffic laws.
- Understand and follow company policies, governmental regulations, and safety standards.
- Enhance technical skills through completion of required training courses.
- Safely operate and maintain all necessary equipment in line with manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience as an automotive technician.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Possession of a basic set of automotive tools or participation in a tool purchase program.
- Ability to work with hands overhead, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Customer-focused mindset.
- Maintain an Automotive Technician State Inspector's license, where applicable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE certification in at least one of the A1-A8 categories.
- Automotive Technician State Inspector License.
- Completion of an automotive technical school program.
