Correctional Custodian

The GEO Group is seeking a motivated Correctional Custodian to join our team.

We are a leading provider of correctional services, committed to helping individuals achieve their full potential.

GEO offers a competitive salary range: $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on location and experience.

• Supervise and monitor detainees in living, recreation, dining, and visitation areas.
• Coordinate their movement (conducting counts and providing emergency response as needed).
• Ensure program activities remain safe and supervise labor crews.
• Conduct shakedowns for contraband materials (alone or with a team) and confiscate prohibited items according to policies.
• Document daily detainee logs (including disciplinary reports).
• Provide timely assistance to those injured, ill, or experiencing trauma.
• Report any facility maintenance or repair needs.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework or advanced training in behavioral sciences, correctional services, or a related field preferred.
• Possession of applicable state requirements for employment.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Capacity to handle physical and mental stress associated with extended working hours.
• Maturity, flexibility, and ability to command respect from inmates or detainees and staff, along with a high tolerance for mental stress.
• Age 21 or older.
