Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a Psychiatrist to join our expanding Community Wellness team. This role involves collaborating with Psychiatric CRNPs and a diverse group of over 20 outpatient therapists. Our team prioritizes trauma-informed care and is committed to delivering exceptional service and ensuring patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive initial evaluations, including detailed patient histories and mental status assessments.
- Diagnose psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents.
- Develop and manage treatment plans, including medication management and psycho-education for clients and their families.
- Advocate for clients regarding their care needs, educational requirements, and referrals.
- Supervise advanced practice psychiatric professionals and therapists.
- Maintain accurate documentation and communication within the electronic health record system.
- Engage in ongoing training to stay informed about trauma-informed care practices.
Essential Duties:
- Perform thorough patient evaluations, ensuring detailed histories and mental status examinations are captured.
- Utilize best practices to diagnose and treat psychiatric conditions.
- Clearly communicate treatment plans and psycho-education to clients and their support systems.
- Provide advocacy for clients' needs, including educational support and referrals.
- Prescribe medications judiciously, ensuring clients are informed of the associated risks and benefits.
- Collaborate with medical assistants for routine health assessments.
- Oversee prescriptive authority and provide guidance for CRNPs.
- Ensure compliance with state regulations, including necessary clearances.
- Work closely with outpatient supervisors and clinicians for triage, crisis intervention, and treatment recommendations.
- Complete clinical documentation promptly and participate in mandatory training programs.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Unrestricted medical license in the state.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in psychiatric practice, with at least 2 years focused on treating children and adolescents.
- Commitment to clinic standards and trauma-informed care principles.
- Current DEA permit and familiarity with electronic health record systems.
- Ability to remain composed in crisis situations and effectively de-escalate conflicts.
- Educational background in human behavior and psychological assessment/treatment methods.
Working Environment:
The primary work setting will be in an office or via telehealth from a remote location. Be prepared to engage with clients who may occasionally exhibit challenging behaviors.
