Job Summary

The Operating Room Technician, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and aseptic environment for patients and healthcare team members. This position requires proficiency in the first scrub role in the majority of surgical procedures, including advanced procedures, and a superior knowledge of surgical equipment and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Participate as a member of the OR team in planning, preparing, and implementing a safe environment for patients and healthcare team members.
• Possess a superior knowledge of surgical equipment and advanced surgical instrumentation.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the first scrub role in the majority of surgical procedures, including advanced procedures.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Operating Room Technician program.
• CPR certification.
• Two or more years of experience as an OR Technician in a multi-specialty surgery center environment.
• Surgical Tech certification (CST) must be obtained within the first year of employment.
