Cytology Specialist

Cayuga Health System, a leading healthcare provider in the region, is seeking a skilled Cytology Specialist to join its team. As an essential member of the anatomical pathology department, this individual will play a crucial role in the accurate preparation, evaluation, and interpretation of gynecologic and non-gynecologic specimens.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in cytology or a science-related discipline and be certified as a NYS Cytotechnologist with ASCP certification in cytotechnology. Prior cytotechnology experience is preferred, but not required.

In addition to technical skills, the successful applicant will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prioritize work and maintain attention to detail. This role requires the ability to endure long periods of sitting at a microscope, perform light lifting up to 40 pounds, and stand for extended periods.
