Position Overview
The Country Inn & Suites - Bloomington Mall of America is looking to enhance its Engineering team by adding a full-time Facilities Technician. This role requires availability during evenings and weekends, specifically from 2 PM to 12 AM. As a full-time hourly employee, you will play a vital role in maintaining the overall functionality and appearance of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general maintenance tasks including painting, landscaping, and upkeep of pools and flooring.
  • Address reports of malfunctioning equipment from both guests and staff promptly.
  • Identify and rectify hazards or injuries within the department immediately.
  • Ensure rooms are in optimal condition through necessary repairs.
  • Familiarize yourself with the Room Preventative Maintenance Program (R.P.M.).
  • Prepare preventative maintenance carts for daily use.
  • Conduct repairs or replacements of appliances and bathroom fixtures, including plumbing tasks as required.
  • Maintain the aesthetic quality of rooms by replacing broken mirrors, fixtures, and performing touch-up painting.
  • Repair and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in guest rooms.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance throughout the hotel premises.
  • Ensure the lobbies and meeting spaces are well-maintained.
  • Repair furniture, carpets, tiles, windows, mirrors, and decorations as necessary.
  • Conduct routine checks and repairs on operating equipment to ensure functionality.
  • Safely clean and maintain pool areas.
  • Organize and maintain engineering and storage areas.
  • Keep flags and banners in clean and functional condition.
  • Maintain a valid driving record and be able to operate the hotel shuttle for guest transportation.
  • Strive for 100% guest satisfaction by delivering exceptional service and hospitality.
  • Demonstrate personal accountability and teamwork in guest service.
  • Listen to guest concerns, empathize, and resolve issues effectively.
  • Proactively identify guest dissatisfaction and take appropriate actions to ensure satisfaction.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary to uphold service standards and genuine hospitality.

Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly push and pull heavy items.
  • Frequently lift items of varying weights.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, or bend.
