Position Overview
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) is accountable for delivering exceptional patient care in accordance with individualized physician directives. Responsibilities encompass assessments, executing prescribed therapies, care planning, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and prevent communication and swallowing disorders in children and adults.
  • Develop tailored care plans with measurable goals based on assessment results and patient/family objectives.
  • Document evaluations outlining therapy needs, goals, and anticipated outcomes.
  • Maintain and update care plans through timely documentation, adjusting goals and treatments as necessary.
  • Coordinate services with healthcare professionals, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Adhere to Speech Therapy Standards of Practice and regulatory guidelines in documentation.
  • Facilitate effective communication among team members and families.
  • Mentor and supervise new graduates and support staff as needed.
  • Participate in program development and continuing education initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid SLP license in the state of practice.
  • CPR certification and NPI number.
  • Proficient in clinical assessments and documentation compliance.

Preferred Experience
  • One year of recent experience in an acute care setting.
  • Pediatric experience is highly desirable.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Capability to travel and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical stamina for prolonged walking, standing, and bending.

Work Environment
Must be adaptable to various settings, which may include exposure to allergens and other environmental factors. This role may involve potential exposure to blood and infectious materials.
