Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to support our government projects in Reston, VA.
This critical role focuses on the development, implementation, and optimization of data-driven solutions and algorithms.
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in Python and PyTorch, experience with Flask, and a solid understanding of REST APIs.
A background in statistics and a basic understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP) are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Translate mission needs into technical requirements.
- Triage and troubleshoot data issues.
- Prepare task plans, documentation, and reports on activities.
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Manage sensitive data transfer and handling.
- Coordinate with technical teams across organizational boundaries.
- Document and communicate technical and non-technical requirements.
- Plan and coordinate program management activities (e.g., reviews, boards, and meetings).
- Provide support in technical writing, editing, and integration.
- Track and ensure the completion of action items.
- Define user requirements for analysts or operational customers.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch.
- Knowledge of Flask with the ability to become proficient quickly.
- Familiarity with REST APIs.
- Background/experience in statistics.
- Basic understanding of Natural Language Processing (NLP).
Preferred Skills and Experiences:
- Experience in developing, deploying, and evaluating testing and verification methodologies for algorithm performance.
- Experience with NLP, CNNs, LLMs, or foundational models.
- Proficiency in deploying machine learning models on multimedia data.
- Linux System Administration and scripting (bash).
- Android configuration, software development, and interfacing experience.
- Experience with embedded systems (e.g., Raspberry Pi).
