Overview

The Section of Neurosurgery at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA) to join our team.

In this role, you will work in the outpatient setting to evaluate surgical patients and provide pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups.

You will partner with attending neurosurgeons to provide appropriate care to patients, including performing history and physical exams, ordering, interpreting, and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic tests, assisting with admission and discharge of patients, obtaining consent, and providing education to patients regarding plan of care.

You will be involved in instructing medical students, residents, and fellows, and a Faculty Appointment at The Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth will be requested.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate surgical patients and provide pre-operative evaluations and post-operative follow-ups
  • Partner with attending neurosurgeons to provide appropriate care to patients
  • Perform history and physical exams, order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests
  • Assist with admission and discharge of patients, obtain consent, and provide education to patients regarding plan of care
  • Instruct medical students, residents, and fellows
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited APRN or PA academic program
  • National specialty certification as FNP, WHNP, PNP, ANP or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Eligible for RN licensure in the State of NH (APRN only)
  • Eligible for APRN or PA licensure in the State of NH
  • Eligible for Federal DEA Registration
  • BLS certification
