We are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System in Houston, Texas. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Job Summary

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. The successful candidate will have a strong background in radiography (x-ray) examinations and a passion for delivering exceptional patient experiences.

Responsibilities

">
  • Perform radiography (x-ray) exams on patients, ensuring compliance with all radiation safety procedures, preparing patients for exams, obtaining and recording vital signs, explaining procedures, administering IVs and contrast when necessary, positioning patients for exams, selecting appropriate imaging techniques, and ensuring technical quality of images.
  • Enter and monitor patient data, accurately documenting patient information and tracking progress.
  • Perform quality assurance on radiology equipment, ensuring that imaging devices are functioning correctly and providing optimal results.
  • Assist with accreditation processes, supporting ACR and other accreditation initiatives to maintain the highest standards of care.
  • Identify and report accidents, complaints, or equipment malfunctions, promptly notifying department management to ensure timely resolution and prevention.
  • Participate in emergency call rotation, being prepared to respond to emergencies within the department and potentially working weekends and floating to other locations as needed.
  • May administer breath alcohol tests and/or urine drug screens, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
  • May perform patient registration tasks, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, upholding Memorial Hermann's commitment to safety, compassion, personalization, and efficiency.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development, meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency while contributing to department-based goals.
  • Demonstrate commitment to caring for every member of our community, creating personalized experiences and modeling Memorial Hermann's service standards.

To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must:

Meet the minimum qualifications

">
  • Be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology
  • Hold current certification in Basic or Advanced Life Support
  • Have a current license or temporary license by the Texas Medical Board (MRT)
  • Be registered as a Radiology Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R)

Preferred qualifications include

  • Able to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others
