**Job Summary**

Catholic Health Initiatives is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work closely with our physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care and help patients improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities.

**About the Role**

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with alternating weekends and major holidays. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will perform components of physical therapy procedures and related tasks selected by a supervising physical therapist. You will assist physical therapists in providing services that help improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries or disease.

**Responsibilities**

* Administers therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities according to the physical therapy plan of care

* Instructs, motivates and assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activities

* Observes patients during treatments, assesses, and compiles data on patients responses to treatments and progress and reports verbally or in writing to the physical therapist; may communicate updates to physicians

* Fit patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs

**Requirements**

* Associate Degree; Major in Kinesiology/Applied Science or other Physical Therapy related field

* Licensed by the State of Texas- Physical Therapist Assistant

* BLS CPR certified, American Heart Association
