Assembler - Damper Associate I - 2nd Shift

The Damper Associate is responsible for assembling a wide range of louvered and damper products to specifications. This role requires the ability to interpret basic dimension specifications, simple prints, and instructions to determine work to be completed in accordance with product drawings/specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Perform manual and repetitive assembly and sub-assembly functions, including riveting, caulking, pneumatic screwing, and bolting of parts to frames and damper assemblies.
- Assemble materials on a table by following technical written or verbal instructions.
- Operate various equipment, such as a drill, rivet gun, caulk gun, pneumatic drivers, and other equipment, as required and necessary.
- Perform routine daily inspections to determine the quality of finished products for defects at certain designated intervals prescribed in the work instructions.
- Clean machines, tooling, and parts, as needed, to keep equipment in proper working condition.
- Train new members on the various assemblies, tools, procedures, safe work practices, and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality, and production.
- Responsible for maintaining the 5S program to ensure a clean and safe work area.
- Identify and rework assemblies deemed defective through QA inspection to comply with quality standards.
- Observe and obey safety rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience is required.
- 1-2 years of assembly experience preferred and/or related experience in similar manufacturing industries acceptable.
- The ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, work instructions, and memos.
- The ability to effectively communicate information in a one-on-one and in a team environment.
- The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- The ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret charts.
- The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, diagram form.
- The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- The ability to detail and specifications, read, interpret, and follow work instructions in an orderly manner.
- The ability to inspect materials according to quality standards.
The work environment is a manufacturing and warehouse setting. The employee is frequently exposed to moving equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, machinery, tools, and more. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate depending on the scope of work.
