Job Overview

The Regulatory Compliance Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing a variety of responsibilities.

This includes conducting technical evaluations of projects proposed for acceptance at the facilities, reviewing technical sampling results, and managing facility approvals.

This role is characterized as a working manager position without personnel authority. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required, along with a solid understanding of various concepts, practices, and procedures within the industry.

The position relies heavily on substantial experience and sound judgment to achieve objectives, performing a diverse range of tasks, including analytical laboratory work.

A significant degree of creativity and autonomy is anticipated. Typically reports to a department head or manager.


Responsibilities include reviewing testing protocols, analyses, site histories, and waste descriptions for contaminated soil proposed for facility acceptance.


Assist in the approval process for new and ongoing projects to ensure materials meet acceptance standards, while maintaining records in line with permit requirements.


Evaluate incoming jobs for completeness and compliance with permits, approve jobs in the CORE system, and communicate with clients regarding job approvals as necessary.


Ensure proper sampling of processed batches of treated materials, including maintaining chain of custody, to adhere to permit sampling frequency.

Review post-treatment sample data to confirm compliance with permitted treatment standards.

Responsible for reviewing facility permits to ensure adherence to permit conditions.

Maintain compliance records in accordance with permit stipulations.

Prepare, review, and submit quarterly and annual reports to regulatory bodies as mandated.

Conduct compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety evaluations to support facility operations.

Perform facility Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) inspections and maintain relevant logs and documentation.

Schedule and/or conduct necessary EH&S training for affected personnel.

Administer and uphold EH&S compliance programs, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication, Hearing Conservation, and Respiratory Protection.


Adhere to regulations, utilize all required safety equipment, promote safe working practices, and address any obvious hazards immediately or report them to the appropriate personnel.

Comply with all company policies and EH&S procedures.
