Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Centra Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in preparing, administering, and measuring radioactive isotopes in therapeutic, diagnostic, and tracer studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation intravenously to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under direction of a physician
  • Detect and map radiopharmaceuticals in patients' bodies, using a camera to produce photographic or computer images
  • Produces a computer-generated or film image for interpretation by a physician
  • Calculates, measures, and records radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed, using computer and following physician's prescription
  • Performs quality control checks on laboratory equipment or cameras
  • Maintains and calibrates radioisotope and laboratory equipment
  • Disposes of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals, following radiation safety procedures
  • Processes cardiac function studies, using computer
  • Records and processes results of procedures
  • Assesses quality of images and ensures imaging outcome assessment meets departmental standard
Requirements:
  • Satisfactory completion of a formal education program accredited by A.R.R.T or a mechanism acceptable to the A.R.R.T. of Society of Nuclear Medicine
  • At least two (2) years of experience in Nuclear Medicine
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with certificate of Nuclear Medicine Technology, or registered by the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI)
  • CPR certification from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
