Job Summary

The Student Supervisor is responsible for providing assistance to and supervision of students in the classroom, during recesses, lunchtime, and at other times assigned by the Principal. This role reports to the site principal or designee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise students at play and while eating in various settings.
  • Assist students during meal times.
  • Support staff with the student lunch program during meal times.
  • Facilitate and mediate conflicts between students.
  • Direct student movement to and from different areas on campus in a safe and organized manner.
  • Organize group games and activities as needed.
  • Evaluate student injuries, notify the office staff, and complete injury reports.
  • Respond to emergency situations.
  • Enforce school rules and safety standards.
  • Follow disciplinary procedures and techniques in accordance with site and archdiocese policies.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Communicate with teachers and staff about student concerns.
Requirements
  • Skills: resolving conflicts, supervising students, communicating effectively, reading, writing, and speaking fluently.
  • Knowledge: school rules and policies, safety procedures, basic first aid, conflict resolution strategies, and school discipline policies.
  • Ability: supervising students, communicating with diverse groups, problem-solving, and exercising good judgment.
Working Environment

The Student Supervisor works under limited supervision, using standardized practices and methods. The role requires 60% walking, 30% standing, and 10% sitting. The job is performed under temperature extremes and conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation for this position ranges from $/hr up to 40 hours a week, depending on experience and placement on the payscale. A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death and disability, long-term disability, pension, 403(b), HSA, FSA, and generous sick leave, vacation, and holidays.
