Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Tech PRN to join our team at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland. As a Patient Care Tech, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services.

Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including eating, drinking, bathing, shaving, oral care, grooming, and elimination.
  • Obtain and record patient information, including vital signs, height and weight, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, intake and output, calorie counts, and other patient data.
  • Assist with mobility by turning and positioning patients, dangling, and ambulating them. Use walkers, crutches, canes, and wheelchairs as needed.
  • Collect and process specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, ensuring accuracy of labels and timely transfer of specimens.
  • Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
