We are currently seeking a skilled State Inspector to join our team at King Motors, our Pre-Owned Location in Martinsburg, WV. This is an excellent opportunity for state inspectors and service technicians who want to be proactive and turn lots of hours.
Responsibilities:- Perform Maryland or West Virginia State Inspections on used vehicles being prepared for retail.
- Work efficiently to complete tasks specified on the repair order, adhering to dealership standards.
- Test-drive vehicles and test components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor to inform customers of any additional service needed and provide an estimate of time required for repairs.
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.
- State Inspector certification in Maryland and/or West Virginia preferred.
- 2+ years of Service Technician experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent, ASE Certification required.
- B-level qualifications, including Diagnostic, Electrical, and Engine Repair.
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies.
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to improve.
- Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
