Job Summary:

The Clinic Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing general, vascular, and cardiac ultrasound procedures, accurately differentiating between normal and pathologic findings. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sonography, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate ultrasound equipment to perform general, vascular, and cardiac procedures/studies
  • Accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information
  • Position patients and select proper transducers and technical factors for accurate ultrasound procedures
  • Maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and enter patient and study information into the radiology information system
  • Communicate findings to physicians and provide technical support to staff
Requirements:
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)
  • Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced training beyond High School in Sonography
  • Typically requires 2 years of experience in a Sonographer role
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work effectively with others towards common department goals
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage simultaneous assignments
Working Conditions:

The Clinic Ultrasound Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards. Personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
