Molecular Pathologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Molecular Pathologist to join our team at Core Medical Laboratories, a leading provider of laboratory services in the New York area. As a Molecular Pathologist, you will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting genetic and molecular alterations in patient samples to aid in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment selection for various diseases, including cancers and genetic disorders.

• Perform and oversee molecular laboratory testing, including DNA sequencing, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and other molecular techniques.
• Analyze and interpret molecular test results to identify genetic mutations, gene expressions, or other molecular alterations associated with diseases.
• Evaluate the clinical significance and relevance of molecular findings in the context of patient's medical history and available literature.

• Medical degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience required.
• Board certification in Anatomic Pathology, Clinical Pathology, or Molecular Genetic Pathology.
• Completion of a fellowship or additional training in Molecular Genetic Pathology.
• In-depth knowledge of molecular biology, genetics, and genomics.
• Experience with molecular laboratory techniques, including DNA sequencing, PCR, and FISH.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems and molecular analysis software.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate interpretation of complex molecular data.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
• Ability to stay updated with advancements in the field through continued medical education and research.
• Knowledge of regulatory guidelines and quality assurance principles in molecular pathology.
