About the Role

The Strategic Vendor Manager will serve as the primary liaison between HR Recruiting Services and a key strategic technology vendor. This role requires a unique blend of banking, legal, and technology expertise to effectively manage the vendor relationship, ensuring alignment with the bank's strategic goals.

The Strategic Vendor Manager will be responsible for consolidating all known issues, projects, and initiatives involving the vendor, balancing internal resources, and preparing comprehensive communications and status updates for internal Executive Management and Vendor executives.

Primary Vendor Relationship Management Responsibilities:
  • Act as the single point of contact between HR Recruiting Services and the strategic vendor.
  • Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with vendor representatives.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with contractual obligations and service level agreements (SLAs).
Issue and Project Management:
  • Consolidate and track all known issues, projects, and initiatives involving the vendor.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to balance resources and prioritize tasks.
  • Facilitate resolution of issues and ensure timely completion of projects.
Communication and Reporting:
  • Prepare and deliver written communications and status updates for internal Executive Management and Vendor executives.
  • Provide regular updates on vendor performance, project status, and issue resolution.
  • Develop and present reports and dashboards to senior management.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
  • Align vendor activities with the bank's strategic objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to the development of vendor management strategies.

This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent project management skills. The ideal candidate will also possess excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, and be detail-oriented with the ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Ambitious candidates with an advanced degree, such as an MBA or JD, are highly preferred.
