Job Summary:

As a CDL Driver - Class B, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations on an intrastate basis, ensuring all deliveries are made on time and in good condition. This position drives on an Intrastate basis, maintaining a professional appearance and attitude at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safely Operate and Drive: Safely operate and drive a tractor-trailer in all types of weather conditions.
  • Adhere to Regulations: Adhere to all applicable traffic laws, safety regulations, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
  • Inspect and Maintain: Inspect, maintain, and repair vehicles as required.
  • Load and Unload Cargo: Load and unload cargo safely and securely, frequently using a forklift.
  • Connect and Disconnect Trailers: Safely connect and disconnect trailers and piggyback forklifts.
  • Keep Records: Keep electronic and/or paper vehicle logs and records of cargo as required by law or requested by company.
  • Complete Paperwork: Complete paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Perform Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspections: Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
  • Report Mechanical Issues: Report any mechanical or other problems with the vehicle to the Regional Logistics Coordinator or assigned Dispatcher, troubleshoot minor problems.
  • Follow Delivery Instructions: Follow delivery instructions and delivery schedules from Dispatch and Management.
  • Utilize Navigation Tools: Utilize GPS navigation, paper maps, road signs, and other navigational items.
  • Ensure Product Delivery: Ensure all product deliveries are signed for and proof of delivery is turned in daily.
  • Understand Product Information: Understand the product and item numbers to not deliver incorrect items or quantities.
  • Communicate with Team: Communicate any problems or delays to Regional Logistics Coordinator, assigned Dispatcher, or Store Manager.
  • Maintain a Courteous Attitude: Maintain a courteous and professional attitude when interacting with customers.
  • Provide Customer Service: Provide prompt, courteous customer service.
  • Maintain Company Vehicles: Maintain company vehicles, which includes keeping it clean, knowing when the maintenance is due, and notifying proper people when maintenance is required.
  • Fuel and Unload Truck: Fuel and unload truck at the end of each day so it is ready for the next day.
  • Maintain Fuel Receipts: Maintain receipts pertaining to fuel purchases made on the company fuel card.
  • Other Duties: Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Valid CDL License: Valid CDL license and Medical Card.
  • Clean Driving Record: Clean driving record.
  • Background Check: Ability to pass a background check and Clearinghouse check.
  • Ability to Drive Long Distances: Ability to drive long distances.
  • Knowledge of Local Roads: Knowledge of local roads and traffic laws.
  • Adherence to Safety Standards: Adherence to safety standards.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work with a team of other drivers.
  • Weather Conditions: Ability to work in different weather conditions.
  • Professional Appearance: Ability to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Following Directions: Ability to follow directions from supervisor or dispatcher.
  • Lifting Heavy Objects: Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Excellent Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills.
