Bookkeeping Professional for Assisted Living

Orchard Ridge Assisted Living is in search of a part-time financial coordinator. This role offers flexible hours, allowing for a work-life balance. The successful candidate will perform essential bookkeeping tasks utilizing accounting software. Familiarity with Yardi is advantageous but not mandatory. Proficiency in basic computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office, is essential.
As a Financial Coordinator, you will oversee the organization’s financial records and ensure precise transaction management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Strong numerical aptitude and advanced computer skills
- Proficient in various accounting software
- Knowledge of HUD accounting practices is a plus; training will be provided if needed
- Experience with Medicaid and Workers Compensation
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Networking knowledge is a plus
- Must successfully pass criminal and drug background checks as mandated by corporate policies
- Must interact respectfully and compassionately with elderly residents
Key Responsibilities:
- Comply with Orchard Ridge's policies and procedures.
- Conduct general bookkeeping tasks: including journal entries, resident billing, intercompany transfers, and assist during annual audits.
- Manage all payroll functions, insurance, and garnishments accurately and promptly, adhering to state and federal regulations.
- Prepare timely and precise financial statements and reports suitable for users, in line with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Record transactions related to rent payments, Medicaid, and Workers Compensation.
- Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure billing accuracy.
Training Requirements:
- Participate in all mandatory in-service training sessions.
Work Environment:
- Ability to adhere to a dedicated work schedule.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium work - Ability to exert 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- Extended periods of sitting with occasional standing and walking.
- Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching.
- Occasional twisting and kneeling.
Compensation:
The compensation for this position ranges from $21 to $25 per hour, depending on experience. Benefits include paid vacation, sick leave, health insurance, and a 401k plan.
