Direct Support Professional Residential Hours 4pm-6am

The Direct Support Professional is a vital member of our team, responsible for providing 24-hour supervision and support to individuals in our care. This role requires a high level of dedication, compassion, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Provide training and teaching to individuals in activities of daily living, promoting independence and social skills.
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as cooking, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
- Administer medication to individuals according to physician orders and using appropriate administration techniques.
- Respond to medical and other emergencies, communicating individual health concerns to the agency's nurse or other designated personnel.
- Drive agency vehicles and personal vehicles as necessary for transportation of individuals in service and to perform other agency business.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Licensed driver with reliable transportation.
- Background check, drug and alcohol check, reference check, and motor vehicle checks must be passed.
- Current motor vehicle insurance required.
- Six months experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
The work environment is dynamic, with moderate to loud noise levels. The employee will work in both inside and outside environments, occasionally working irregular or extended hours and meeting deadlines with severe time constraints.
Language SkillsThe employee must be able to read, analyze, and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence, and respond to common inquiries or complaints from individuals, regulatory agencies, guardians, etc.
Mathematical SkillsThe employee must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning AbilityThe employee must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThe Program Supervisor or Program Director provides the bulk of supervision required. In general, this position requires that the individual work independently approximately 85% of the time.
Other SkillsThe employee must be able to work with others, with system issues, and within designated time frames. Patience in dealing with individuals, parents, employees, etc. is essential. The employee must be able to develop effective working relationships with a variety of people, communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, and perform duties in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
