Position Summary and Qualifications
As a skilled Operating Room Nurse, you will deliver outstanding patient care during surgical and invasive procedures.
Under the guidance of the OR Manager, you will collaborate with the surgical team to ensure the operating room is fully prepared for all procedures.
We pride ourselves on teamwork and are seeking a dedicated nurse who shares our commitment to meaningful patient care.
In our department:
- We operate 15 surgical suites and handle approximately 1000 cases monthly.
- We utilize 11 surgical robots and have recently achieved our 10,000th robotic surgery.
- Our specialty is in cardiovascular operating room procedures, and we welcome those interested in training in this area.
- Our team is experienced and close-knit, passionate about our work.

In this role, you will:
- Perform general nursing responsibilities and demonstrate proficiency in all operating room procedures as validated by specific competencies.
- Ensure efficient room turnover and patient flow.
- Complete all necessary documentation and computer charting for accurate and timely patient records and billing.
- Anticipate and address the needs of the surgical team based on your experience.
- Verify that the Pre-operative Checklist is complete before the patient enters the surgical suite.
- Be consistently prepared for assigned surgical cases.
- Respond appropriately to patients in emergency or distressing situations.
- Facilitate communication among patients, surgeons, OR staff, families, and other departments as necessary.
- Provide a comprehensive report on the patient's condition to the PACU nurse.
- Adhere to safety and security protocols, including hand hygiene, universal precautions, and personal protective equipment usage.
- Maintain professionalism, especially in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Utah.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire.
- Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) within 6 months of hire.
- Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire.
- A minimum of one year of experience in the operating room is required.
