- Evaluate Patients: Conduct thorough evaluations of new patients to assess their needs and develop a personalized plan of care.
- Develop and Implement Care Plans: Create and implement care plans that are tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals.
- Document Patient Care Data: Accurately and thoroughly document patient care data, reflecting evidence of improvement, progress, or decline in patient condition.
- Communicate with Intercompany and Intracompany Contacts: Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Provide Education and Training: Offer in-service education, healthcare professional education, and public education as needed, while supervising peers and supporting personnel.
- Education and Certification: Minimum bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from an accredited school of occupational therapy, successful completion of the National Certification Exam, and current licensure from the state where therapy will be provided.
- Experience: Prefer a minimum of one year's therapeutic experience in a non-home healthcare environment.
- Skills and Knowledge: Strong knowledge of theory and concepts relating to the practice of occupational therapy, with the ability to evaluate and treat patients for whom a physician's order exists.
- Certifications and Continuing Education: CPR certified and committed to ongoing continuing education, with a minimum of twelve hours annually.
