Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Park Operations Manager to join our team at the Arkansas Government Job. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our park facilities, ensuring that they are well-maintained and running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise a team of staff members, including regular and seasonal employees, to ensure that park operations are carried out efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and implement operational plans and schedules for year-round park operations, including preventative and routine maintenance, construction projects, and special events.
  • Prepare and manage park budgets, monitoring daily expenditures and scheduling work hours for staff members to prevent overspending.
  • Participate in planning teams to develop or expand programs and facilities, alter procedures, determine revenue sources and cost containment, and monitor operations, facilities, and programs to ensure that goals are met.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state and federal laws governing park operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service to park visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure that park operations are aligned with overall agency goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in park administration, parks and recreation management, natural science, recreation administration, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in park management, including one year in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures, state and federal laws governing park operations, public safety practices and procedures, and state budgetary and accounting procedures.
  • Ability to prepare, review, and analyze financial data, prepare and interpret financial reports and statements, and plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people, including staff members, visitors, and other stakeholders.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on customer service and teamwork.
