Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Survey Crew Chief to join our team at Olsson. As a key member of our survey team, you will be responsible for leading and managing survey crews on various projects, including construction staking, boundary surveys, topography surveys, and ALTA surveys.

As a Survey Crew Chief, you will work closely with our professional land survey manager to ensure the success of our projects. You will apply your comprehensive understanding of field concepts, practices, and procedures to contribute to the team's goals.

This role offers opportunities for project management responsibilities, including project research, boundary calculations, and collaboration on project planning and coordination. You will also have the chance to engage in diverse survey tasks and work in various terrain and weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage survey crews on various projects
  • Apply comprehensive understanding of field concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Contribute to project management responsibilities, including project research and boundary calculations
  • Collaborate on project planning and coordination
  • Work in various terrain and weather conditions
Requirements
  • Registered as a Surveyor-in-Training (SIT), Surveyor Intern (SI), or 4 years of experience working with a licensed surveyor
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to contribute and work well on a team
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or Microstation is preferred
  • Some construction staking experience is helpful
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
