Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Neurology Specialist to join our team at Optum Unity Health Network in Akron, Ohio. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide compassionate and effective care to patients with neurological health problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered care that is tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
  • Work collaboratively with our team of neurologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Comply with all coding and documentation requirements to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Practice evidence-based medicine to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Participate in outpatient and light inpatient rotations to gain a comprehensive understanding of neurological care.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal care outcomes.
  • Complete follow-up and post-hospital assessments to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide education and support to facility staff to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to drive excellence in care delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Unrestricted licensure in the state of Ohio or ability to obtain.
  • Active and unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain.
  • Certified in Family Medicine, Gerontology, or Emergency Medicine.
  • Prior experience in neuroscience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations and perform light rounding at the hospital.
  • Ability to maintain privileges with no restrictions at the hospital where procedures will be performed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of clinical experience.
  • Experience in Sleep Medicine is a plus.
