The Opportunity

As an ESL Teacher, you'll provide academic, emotional, and physical support for students who require additional assistance to thrive in school. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching knowledge and skills, nurturing confidence and character, and meeting the needs of all students using SESI instructional models, strategies, and curriculum
  • Using assessment data to modify short and long-term plans to promote all students' academic performance
  • Developing and maintaining skill-appropriate lesson plans
  • Collaborating with staff to promote an environment of critical thinking and academic rigor
  • Implementing de-escalation techniques and crisis management to maintain the safety of students and staff
  • Driving, recording, and tracking student growth and progress toward goals
  • Participating in daily school functions, such as morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties
  • Attending and documenting conferences, meetings, and training with supervisors
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
  • Valid English as a Second Language Certification
  • Commitment to learning and implementing feedback
  • Ability to adapt and remain flexible
