Key Responsibilities

  • Backing in and out of docks
  • Drive CDL trucks to transport materials and equipment to specific route destinations
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Checking mechanical aspects of the vehicle
  • Reporting maintenance/repair issues on tractors and trailers
  • Secure loads after each delivery using loading bars in trailers

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 12 months CDL A tractor-trailer required
  • Current DOT Medical Card and be able to pass pre-employment DOT drug and criminal background screen
  • Hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License, with air brakes endorsement
  • Be in excellent physical condition and be able to stand, sit, kneel, bend, lift, push, pull for extended periods and have normal use of senses
  • Able to work in all types of environments and under difficult conditions; hot, cold, dust, indoors, outdoors
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Must pass pre-hire drug screen and physical
  • Be able to lift, push, pull 65 pounds with no assistance

Compensation and Benefits

  • Average Annual Salary $98,000 per year, which includes:
  • Average weekly pay $1,900 per week
  • Activity-based pay (mileage, stops, layover, detention, etc.)
  • Average 2,000-3,000 miles per week
  • Bi-Weekly paychecks

Work Schedule

  • Sunday-Thursday (home early Friday morning)
  • Depart Sunday 2pm-4pm, depending on first stop location
  • Typically home for 34-hours reset (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday)
  • Driver assist unloading garage doors by hand to distribution centers
  • Dedicated route position with backhauls at end of each week
  • Make 8-15 stops per day, average is 11 stops per day
  • Coverage area is east of the Rocky Mountains, no NYC
  • Routes vary and can change without notice. Must be flexible with work schedule
