We are seeking an Oncology Research Analyst to join our mission of enhancing and prolonging lives by gaining insights from the experiences of every individual affected by cancer. Are you prepared to be a pivotal force in the evolution of cancer care?

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be an integral member of the Research Sciences (RS) department, primarily collaborating with the Custom Solutions and Services (CSS) team within the Client Solutions organization. This team delivers tailored real-world data and evidence solutions to tackle critical research inquiries across clinical development, market access, and commercial applications for our life sciences partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing studies that utilize electronic health record (EHR)-derived real-world data (RWD), formulating protocols and statistical analysis plans, overseeing study execution in partnership with statistical programmers, and clearly summarizing and interpreting findings.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, including project managers and oncologists, to implement and deliver client-sponsored research studies accurately, effectively, and promptly.
  • Developing subject matter expertise and articulating the capabilities of various Flatiron data modalities, such as EHR-derived RWD, clinico-genomics data, and claims data, to biopharma clients.
  • Continuing to deepen your understanding of real-world data and the methodologies employed to generate real-world evidence.
  • Contributing to initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency in our processes and accelerating our capacity to produce evidence for our clients.
Who You Are

You are a compassionate, enthusiastic, and collaborative problem-solver. Additionally, you possess strong analytical thinking and communication skills, with experience in developing real-world evidence from real-world data (e.g., healthcare claims or electronic health records). You are motivated by the opportunity to address significant challenges on a daily basis.
  • You hold a PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Economics and Outcomes Research, or a closely related discipline with 1-2 years of relevant experience (including experience prior to graduate school) OR a Master's degree in one of these fields with 4-5 years of relevant experience.
  • You possess a comprehensive understanding of observational data and have a proven track record of applying epidemiologic methods to public health and/or pharmacoepidemiology challenges.
  • You have experience in supporting and leading studies to generate impactful real-world evidence from real-world data within the life sciences and pharmaceutical sectors.
  • You are proficient in programming with R for exploratory analysis and basic data cleaning to inform study design and methodology (or another programming language, with a commitment to enhancing your R skills).
  • You demonstrate strong organizational, time-management, prioritization, and decision-making abilities necessary for evaluating, planning, and executing multiple high-visibility projects in a timely manner.
  • You are adept at working closely with clients to refine and deliver high-quality studies that align with their requirements.
  • You thrive in a dynamic, diverse, and matrixed environment.
  • You are quick to learn and apply new information, skills, and procedures.
  • You are passionate about our mission to advance healthcare through technology.
