POSITION TITLE: Gifted Teacher

FLSA: Exempt

QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess appropriate state certification

REPORTS TO: Principal and/or designated Supervisor

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Engage in curriculum assessment and development.
  • Utilize a diverse range of effective teaching methodologies aligned with lesson goals.
  • Evaluate and assess student capabilities and progress consistently and promptly.
  • Track student advancement and modify teaching methods as necessary.
  • Design a study program tailored to the unique needs, interests, and skills of the students.
  • Establish a learning environment that fosters student engagement.
  • Regularly evaluate student achievements and provide necessary progress documentation.
  • Refer students to additional services as outlined by the District (ESL, Reading, Special Reading).
  • Implement district-wide initiatives effectively.
  • Collaborate efficiently with colleagues across departments and grade levels.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Comply with state laws, school board regulations, and policies.
  • Participate in meetings and fulfill responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
  • Take all reasonable precautions to safeguard students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records as mandated by law, district policy, and administrative guidelines.
  • Serve on committees as designated.
  • Stay informed on current educational practices and methodologies (e.g., instructional technology).
