Position Overview:
The Medical Director will operate under the guidance of the Chief of Medicine, taking on a pivotal leadership role within the organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure productivity standards are met by managing patient flow, with an expectation of seeing a minimum of 14 patients daily.
- Conduct thorough chart and peer reviews in alignment with established guidelines, reviewing at least 5 charts weekly per clinic.
- Oversee or delegate peer evaluations of healthcare providers.
- Maintain optimal staffing levels to guarantee seamless patient care, including managing vacation schedules effectively.
- Direct daily operations and strategic decision-making involving both clinical and administrative teams to uphold high-quality care standards.
- Implement a cohesive business strategy across the organization, fostering collaboration and clear communication among all levels of staff.
- Manage the financial aspects of the healthcare center, including budgeting and billing processes.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, including DOH, OSHA, HCFA, and HIPAA.
- Build and nurture partnerships with external entities such as community health organizations and governmental agencies.
- Achieve annual goals related to organizational growth and revenue generation.
- Conduct market research to adapt business strategies in response to the evolving healthcare environment.
- Engage in business development initiatives and manage vendor relationships as part of the organization's expansion efforts.
- Maintain productivity levels as set by management, providing support and troubleshooting as needed.
- Supervise overall clinic administration and report to the Regional Medical Director on relevant matters.
Meetings and Committees:
Participate in Medical Staff Meetings to discuss operational strategies and improvements.
Supervisory Duties:
Exercise supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements, including hiring, training, and performance management of staff.
Qualifications:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in all essential duties. The following qualifications are required:
Education and Experience:
A Doctorate degree (M.D., Ph.D., R.Ph.) or equivalent experience of over 10 years in a related field.
Language Proficiency:
Ability to interpret scientific literature, financial documents, and legal texts, along with effective communication skills for presentations and written materials.
Mathematical Competence:
Strong ability to engage with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical scenarios.
Reasoning Skills:
Exceptional ability to apply logical reasoning to complex problems and manage abstract variables.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must possess a valid Medical Board License from the State of Texas and be Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
