We are seeking a skilled Part Time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Danville, Pennsylvania.
About the RoleThis is a part-time opportunity for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work in Hospital Medicine at Geisinger Medical Center. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing diagnostic and therapeutic tasks under the supervision of a physician, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities- Conduct initial assessments and triage patients based on their presenting condition.
- Keep track of pertinent procedure and laboratory results, discuss with physicians, and return calls to families and patients regarding results and plans.
- Assist with arranging follow-up appointments for patients.
- Answer phone calls from established patients and their families, assess their needs, and provide information about care.
- Discuss treatment plans with physicians and relay information to families and patients.
- Obtain preauthorization for medications, diagnostic studies, and treatments when necessary.
To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies and be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). They should also have basic life support certification.
