Role Summary/Purpose:
The Lead Quality Engineer will oversee all quality-related functions for designated programs within assembly operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with engineering and regulatory standards through the application of six sigma methodologies. The Lead Quality Engineer will collaborate with a cross-functional team to drive business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all quality functions for assigned programs or areas with minimal supervision.
- Serve as the primary contact for inspectors regarding program-related inquiries.
- Possess a foundational understanding of AS9100 and/or NADCAP standards.
- Implement innovative solutions to eliminate process variations and product defects.
- Conduct Root Cause and Corrective Action investigations with guidance, utilizing established tools (PFMEA, DMAIC, Apollo, 5 WHYs, 8D, etc.).
- Manage Nonconformance Items and Workflows efficiently.
- Engage in training opportunities as they arise.
- Prioritize tasks and deliverables weekly to align with business goals.
- Follow direction from cross-functional team members to support team objectives.
- Provide expertise in process improvement and variation reduction as needed.
- Utilize a broad understanding of statistical theories and principles to enhance quality and establish feedback loops with manufacturing and development teams.
- Assist manufacturing teams in designing, implementing, and documenting procedures for process control, improvement, testing, and inspection.
- Demonstrate strong computer skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Excel, and statistical software tools.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality leadership capacity. A degree in a relevant science, engineering, or engineering technology field is preferred.
