Job Summary:
The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a highly skilled Neurologist to join our team as a Headache Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity for a medical professional to provide exceptional patient care and contribute to the advancement of neurological medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care for outpatients and inpatients with actual or presumed neurological problems, utilizing clinical expertise to diagnose and treat a range of conditions.
- Take turns covering the inpatient neurology ward and neurology consult service, supervising and educating residents/students, and taking call responsibilities, which may involve clinical care and supervision on weekends.
- Develop and lead Headache clinics, as well as other clinics focused on interventions such as Botulinum toxin for headache treatment, to provide patients with effective and innovative care options.
- Work independently, caring for outpatients in a to-be-established headache clinic, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Ability to function within a large complex organization, requiring cooperation with multiple services, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
- Participate in clinical research and other academic activities, both within the VA and with affiliated academic institutions, to advance the field of neurological medicine and improve patient outcomes.
- May participate in telehealth with Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), leveraging technology to expand access to care and improve patient engagement.
Work Schedule: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday (Plus On-Call)
