We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Operations Specialist to join our team at PerkinElmer. As a key member of our scientific solutions team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory facilities and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- System Ownership: Perform ownership responsibilities on a range of laboratory equipment and communicate instrument availability to stakeholders.
- Liaison and Communication: Liaise with facility engineering and communicate impacted business to ensure seamless operations.
- Quality and Safety: Inspect customer labs for quality, process, and safety improvements, and maintain overall oversight of lab operations.
- Training and Induction: Induct lab users and maintain training records to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Process Alignment: Align procedures and processes across customer lab spaces to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Departmental Support: Provide insight and support to departmental EHS and Quality teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with Lab Technician and Lab Support Coordinator to provide seamless Lab Management Service.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to benefit ways of working.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in a chemistry, biology, or other relevant discipline, or Associate degree with 2+ years' experience in a laboratory environment.
- Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
- Experience: 2+ years' experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in a scientific solutions or quality assurance role.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with laboratory equipment, quality assurance procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to work in a laboratory and controlled environments requiring personal protective equipment (e.g., lab coat, safety glasses, etc.).
- Job Pace: Job pace may be fast, and job completion demands may be high.
- Physical Abilities: Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 25% of the time, occasionally move between labs, corridors, adjoining rooms, and buildings onsite, and frequently operate on instruments, objects, tools, or controls.
