About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Maintenance Worker to join our team in Queensbury UFSD. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine building cleaning duties in school buildings and related facilities.

Salary Information

The salary for this position is $15.50 - $16.28 per hour, plus shift differential. Excellent health and dental insurance, sick, personal and vacation time as per employment contract, NYS Employees' Retirement System plan eligibility, and uniform provision are also included in the benefits package.

Job Description

This role involves performing a wide variety of routine and non-routine cleaning tasks as required throughout the year. You will work closely with other teams to ensure our buildings are clean, safe, and comfortable for students, staff, and the community. Your responsibilities may include setting up for special activities and events, attending to exterior and interior flags, accepting deliveries, stocking and delivering supplies, and supporting food service staff.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

As a Maintenance Worker, you can expect a physically demanding environment that includes walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling objects, lifting and moving objects, repetitive bending and lifting, and repetitive arm movements.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have some knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. You should also be able to understand and follow simple oral and written directions, get along well with others, read and write, demonstrate thoroughness and cleanliness, and possess good physical condition.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma or Equivalent is preferred, and experience in cleaning/service environments is also beneficial. However, we are willing to train the right candidate.
