The Retail Parts Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient delivery and pickup of parts and equipment for the dealership. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and Pick Up Parts: Safely transport parts and equipment to and from the dealership, ensuring timely delivery and pickup.
  • Load and Secure Parts: Load the delivery truck in a manner that prevents damage to sheet metal and other fragile parts.
  • Schedule Optimization: Organize delivery schedules to maximize efficiency and post schedules for easy access.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain the delivery truck to ensure it remains in good working condition.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report any malfunctions or issues with the delivery truck to the Parts Manager promptly.
  • Parts Department Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized parts department and area.
  • Safe Delivery and Pickup: Ensure safe delivery and pickup of parts, and notify the shipping department of each stop.
  • Purchase Order Verification: Only pick up parts with a valid purchase order on the invoice.
  • Delivery Log Updates: Update the delivery log after each delivery.
  • Sales Calls and Client Identification: Work with the Parts Manager to identify potential clients and complete sales calls as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information, and communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other contacts.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license required.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to use a computer and calculator.
