Job Summary

Check-Mate Industries is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team in Thomasville, GA. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for assembling and inspecting firearm magazines, ensuring high-quality products that meet our stringent standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble parts, such as handles, blades, gears, or springs, to manufacture firearm magazines.
  • Position parts together, following guides such as holes, edges, and prongs, to ensure accurate assembly.
  • Rivet, bolt, or screw parts together, using a hammer, riveting machine, wrench, or pneumatic screwdriver, to complete the assembly process.
  • Inspect assembled parts for quality and accuracy, identifying any defects or issues that require repair.
  • Test, calibrate, and fit parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Identify units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repair as necessary, maintaining a high level of quality control throughout the production process.
  • Drill, ream, or tap holes in parts of pliers, using a drill press, to prepare them for assembly.
  • Maintain a high level of safety in and around the assembly area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Pack assembled parts, preparing them for shipment to our customers.
  • Ensure that all documentation is correct, including quantities and other records, to maintain accurate inventory and production records.
  • Maintain the Assembly work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition, adhering to 5S principles and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Report defective parts or questionable conditions to the line lead or department supervisor, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain knowledge of QC requirements and procedures to ensure proper disposition of nonconforming parts, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Communicate with line leads and assemblers at shift change to exchange relevant information that helps prevent mistakes or expedite the assembly processes.
Requirements
  • H.S. diploma or GED
  • 0– 3 years of manufacturing experience and/or small part assembly
  • Fine motor dexterity skills required to maintain quality and productivity
  • Basic problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills; Conflict resolution skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to multi-task, adaptable and an analytical thinker
  • Able to utilize Micrometers, gauges, and other hand-tools for measuring and inspecting
  • Able to read and following instructions outlined in production documents
