This role is located at the White River Junction VA Medical Center and involves working a rotating 12-hour overnight shift schedule. You will be part of a team that contributes to providing exceptional care to patients.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a CT technologist, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting. They should possess proficiency in performing specialized radiographic procedures, with a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing diagnostic imaging procedures such as MRI, X-rays, Fluoroscopy, CT, Echo, Cath Lab, Mammography, PET, and Electroneurodiagnostic, specializing in CT scans
  • Conducting exams during overnight shifts, following the rotating schedule
  • Ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures, providing clear instructions and reassurance as needed
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to ensure accurate and timely delivery of imaging services
  • Maintaining equipment functionality by performing routine maintenance and participating in quality assurance activities
  • Accurately documenting procedures in electronic medical records and other relevant systems

The minimum requirements for this position include:

  • A completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or associate degree accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or an equivalent agency recognized by the Department of Education (DOE)
  • American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) certification in Computed Tomography (CT). Additional certifications in MRI, X-Rays, Fluoroscopy, and other modalities preferred or eligible for certification within six months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved vendor
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a CT technologist, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and the health care team
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care, safety, and confidentiality
