Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team at Matrix Providers. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dental team in delivering high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist dentists in various phases of treatment, including restorative, prosthodontic, oral surgical, endodontic, and periodontal procedures.
- Obtain and record patient medical history, chart examination and treatment information, and record prescriptions.
- Sterilize instruments, materials, and equipment, and maintain dental equipment in a clean and operative condition.
- Assist dentists at chairside, perform intra-oral procedures, and take preliminary impressions for study models.
- Relay dentist instructions to patients for post-treatment care, instruct patients in proper dental techniques, and provide information on appliance care and dental decay prevention.
- Operate dental X-ray equipment to take intra and extra-oral radiographs, maintain, clean, and perform minor repairs on X-ray equipment and materials.
- Pour and trim models from impressions, construct custom impression trays, and maintain recurring reports related to dental activities.
Requirements:
- Certificate or Associate Degree in Dental Assisting from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA), or equivalent experience and certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- 12 months of experience within the preceding 36 months in a dental assisting role, or equivalent experience and certification.
