Job Summary and Qualifications
The HCA Nurse Residency Program at North Suburban Medical Center equips you with the necessary tools to thrive in today’s healthcare environment. This paid program facilitates your transition from classroom learning to practical experience through a structured series of educational opportunities, including:
- Advanced clinical training in specialized areas.
- Monthly educational workshops.
- Preceptorship with an experienced facility preceptor.
- Skill evaluation through hands-on simulations.
- Mentorship from established nurse leaders.
- Collaborative work on evidence-based practice projects.
The following specialties are available:
- Medical Surgical, Orthopedics- Post-Surgical, Medical Telemetry, Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The RN Resident is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental requirements and professional standards. Collaborating with medical providers and other care team members, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient conditions upon admission and throughout each shift, reporting any changes in status.
- Perform medical procedures and monitor patient conditions as directed by medical providers.
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient needs and proactively addressing concerns.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse status in the State
- No prior experience required
- Some travel may be necessary for training
