Job Title: Labor and Delivery Nurse

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at ProEd Consulting and Staffing. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will provide high-quality patient care to expectant mothers and their newborns, ensuring a safe and successful delivery experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate interpretation and documentation of fetal monitor tracing.
  • Deliver quality care to low to high-risk obstetrical patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods.
  • Provide newborn care to infants at delivery.
  • Assist with preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care of obstetrical patients.
  • Facilitate admission of patients to the Labor and Delivery unit and discharge of patients from the observation area.
  • Provide education to patients and families regarding the labor and delivery process.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
Requirements:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Two years of recent clinical experience in Labor and Delivery.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (RNC-EFM) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN or MSN degree.
  • STABLE Program certification.
  • Experience with breastfeeding and lactation support.
Working Conditions:

This role requires frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, and reaching. The ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds is also required. The ability to occasionally assist with lifting, pushing, and/or pulling patients for transfer of care, requiring exertion of up to and over 50 pounds, is also necessary.

Required Health Documents:
  • Physician's Statement within 12 months.
  • Drug Screen within 30 days prior to assignment start date.
  • Proof of TB test within 12 months prior to assignment start date.
  • Chest X-Ray: Proof of Positive TB with Chest X-ray and questionnaire.
  • T-Spot/TB Gold: Within 12 months prior to assignment start date.
  • T-dap Vaccine administered within 10 years of assignment start date.
  • MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella): Must show proof of immunity.
  • Varicella Titer: Must show proof of immunity.
