Production Assembler - Knockdown Operations – 1st Shift Work Schedule:
Monday 7am – 3:30pm
Tuesday 5am – 3:30pm

The Production Assembler for Knockdown Operations is tasked with the local execution and management of all shipping forms activities directed towards vendors and supervisors, adhering to Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies, and operational standards.
This role encompasses a variety of employment-related functions aimed at enhancing employee engagement, ensuring safety and health, boosting productivity, and maintaining compliance with company policies within a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Apply prior experience in the manufacturing sector to the assembly process.
- Effectively implement labeling, disassembly, skidding, purging, and packing protocols across all standard models.
- Operate manual and semi-automatic welding machinery to join metal components using the GMAW process.
- Utilize Miller Aluma Pro Mig gun for welding tasks.
- Handle manual and semi-automatic power and air tools proficiently.
- Operate manual and semi-automatic flame-cutting devices.
- Uphold safe working practices at all times.
- Conduct technical inspections of assembled products.
- Prepare inputs for various management and log reports.
- Interpret and review blueprints and specifications to ensure functionality in the intended environment.
- Guarantee the accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects.
- Stay informed about advancements in technology, compliance, and repair/rework techniques.
- Engage in training programs as either a trainee or trainer as necessary.
- Promote and practice 5S principles throughout the facility.
- Participate in continuous improvement events.
- Perform additional assigned tasks as required.
- Conduct daily inspections on all necessary equipment.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move parts, materials, and units within the department.
Qualifications:
- Collaborate with supervisors and team leads to drive continuous improvements in work cells, meeting quotas, and adhering to established parameters in all shipping knockdown processes.
- Proficiency in scanning in and out of work orders is essential.
- Strong knowledge and skills in operating all metalworking machinery are required.
- Ability to read and comprehend production AutoCAD 2D drawings, blueprints, work orders, and other written instructions is necessary.
- Proven performance in a similar role within Johnson Controls.
- Adherence to Operation Description Sheets (ODS), Safety Operational Sheets (SOS), Visual Quality Acceptance Forms (VQA), and Training Documents.
- High School Diploma, GED, or relevant certifications.
- Compliance with all safety policies and protocols.
- Quality-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in using precision measurement hand tools, such as levels, measuring tapes, and combination squares.
