Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a correctional setting.
  • Assist healthcare providers, registered nurses, and allied health professionals with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
  • Obtain patient health history, laboratory specimens, vital signs, and administer TB skin tests.
  • Conduct lab tests and ensure results are delivered to the correct physician or registered nurse.
  • Ensure patients receive proper care for injuries or conditions.
  • Review patient charts, record and report observed symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient conditions.
  • Schedule and coordinate paperwork for patient transfers to medical facilities or outside healthcare providers; administer medications; implement healthcare practitioners' orders and document all patient contacts using the POMR format.
Qualifications
  • Current state license as a LPN
  • Current CPR certificate
  • Proficient with electronic medical records
  • Ability to pass pre-employment Level 2 clearance, including background check and drug screen
