Job Title: Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join our team at KP Companies. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, investments, fixed assets, and general ledger.
  • Lead and supervise a team of finance staff, including a Fund Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, and Staff Accountant.
  • Manage timely general ledger closings on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring accurate financial presentations and account reconciliations.
  • Generate and analyze monthly operating reports for leadership team.
  • Approve journal entries, grant distributions, and vendor payments.
  • Maintain banking relationships and oversee payroll and HR administrative duties.
  • Champion the adoption of technology to streamline processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification required.
  • Minimum of seven years in professional accounting, with at least two years in a finance leadership role.
  • Proficient in automated financial and accounting systems, ideally foundation software.
  • Experience with donor-advised funds, endowments, and trusts is advantageous.
