Hypersonic Systems Engineer Job Description

Leidos is seeking a highly experienced Hypersonic Systems Engineer to join our team in King of Prussia, PA. As a senior engineer, you will lead systems development and modeling and simulation efforts for hypersonic systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead systems development and modeling and simulation efforts for hypersonic systems
  • Integrate multiple design concepts and define analysis and test roadmaps to validate performance of hypersonic systems
  • Develop system level critical thinking skill sets for less experienced engineers
  • Articulate technical challenges associated with high speed flight system design
  • Experience in multiple domains crucial to hypersonic design, including aerodynamics, aerothermal, materials, thermal, structural, loads & dynamics, or other relevant areas

Requirements:
  • 8+ years' experience in addition to a bachelor's in Aerospace Engineering (or similar) degree
  • Experience with system requirements generation and decomposition, trade study execution, system integration and interface coordination, verification and validation
  • Experience in multiple domains, including aerodynamics, aerothermal, trajectory simulation, material response, mechanical design, structural analysis, thermal analysis, ground test planning and execution, flight test planning and execution, range safety analysis, payload integration
  • Active Secret clearance required, Top Secret preferred
