Key Responsibilities:

  • Grooming & Hygiene: Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming to promote personal hygiene and self-esteem.
  • Mobility Assistance: Provide support with walking, transferring, and positioning to ensure safe mobility and prevent falls.
  • Toileting & Incontinence Care: Assist with toileting, incontinence care, and bowel/bladder training to promote continence and dignity.
  • Meal Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook meals to meet the client's nutritional needs and preferences.
  • Light Housekeeping & Laundry: Assist with light housekeeping and laundry to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment.
  • Grocery Shopping/Errands/Transportation: Accompany clients on grocery shopping trips, errands, and transportation to ensure access to essential services.
  • Medication Reminders: Assist with medication reminders and administration to ensure timely medication adherence.
  • Working with Dementia/Alzheimer's Clients: Provide specialized care and support to clients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory stimulation and behavioral support.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 months of caregiving experience preferred.
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push, and pull, with varied assistance required depending on the client's ability.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed throughout the shift.
  • High level visual and hearing acuity and verbal communication required.
  • Applicants must be bondable and meet or exceed minimum qualifications for criminal background investigation and motor vehicle driving record.
  • Permission to submit to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and post-accident drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must have valid South Carolina Driver's License.
  • Must have reliable transportation and fulfill assignments with reliability and punctuality.
  • Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Empathy for the needs of the client.
  • Treat clients, families, staff, and the public with courtesy and respect, presenting a positive public image.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ensures confidentiality and security of the client's medical information.
